Why Food Tribes Matter for CPG Marketers [VIDEO]

DocuKnowledge had the opportunity to interview Eric Pierce of New Hope Network and learned not only about how food is part of the bigger picture of regenerative agriculture, soil health, carbon sequestration and climate change, but how food tribes are essential to marketing consumer packaged goods (CPG). Food tribes help us understand the values surrounding consumers' food choices, which can range from environmental impact to health to convenience. And these can be unexpected: consumers of plant-based products may not necessarily be vegans or vegetarians. It's a mistake to assume that an individual may not want to put bacon on their veggie burger! As a brand, it's important to consider consumer segments that may not seem obvious at first glance.
